Deep in the Appalachian Hills of Spencer, West Virginia, lies Easton Kerby, an 85cc riderwho’s been subject to an expeditious progression and is already harvesting the fruits of his labor. Kerby has been busy, tearing up an assembly of tracks across the northeast and checking the boxes to qualify for a trip to the ranch. Kerby put up some solid results and always seems to leave the track just a little better than when he arrived. That progression on the bike became undeniable when the Kerby camp arrived at Lincoln Trail Motosportsover Easter weekend for The Abe. The KTM Pilot put together a very solid practice day on Friday. He looked confident, motivated, and poised as he acclimated to the Illinois race course. When the less-than-ideal conditions made themselves known on Saturday, Kerby didn’t lose a step. He navigated through the muck and mud with style and grace to finish 1-2-3 in his first motos. These first-day results were motivating to Kerby; he knew what he needed to do and was prepared to execute. The sun rose on championship Sunday in Casey, Illinois, and Kerby was flawless. Under the much-improved track conditions courtesy of the LTM track crew, Easton put the hammer down and rode his very best. In both Mini Sr. 1 and 2, Kerby was untouchable, winning both of the second motos and securing the championship titles and gold hardware in the process. In 85 Open, Kerby went wheel to wheel with an extremely quick Travis Schneider throughout the weekend. Those two battled to the very end, and Kerby’s second-place finish in the Moto would translate to second in the overall class standings. Easton Kerby has every opportunity to continue this array of solid performances he’s laid out so far. His undeniable skill and ferocious mindset on the motorcycle are going to be a real problem for competitors as the 8-0 continues to climb the amateur rankings.
