DAILY BREAD TINLEY MCCOY

DAILY BREAD TINLEY MCCOY
2

Tinley McCoy of the Volunteer State is hungry for wins in the 2025 season. McCoy’s training routine is unrelenting. A typical day in the life of Tinley consists of two trips to the gym, a full day on the track, and a protein-packed meal to refuel, leaving just enough time to get the schoolwork done and hang out with friends. McCoy had an extremely solid 2024 year. She took 4th overall in the very competitive Girls (11-16) class at Loretta’s and could be easily located towards the front of the pack in almost every event she entered. One of the strongest pieces of McCoy’s game is her toughness. Her ability to rise up in the face of adversity is exactly what makes a good rider great. The 22 says she’s proud of the growth experienced on and off the track last season and is already reaping the benefits of her hard work early In the 2025 season. At Spring A Ding Ding, McCoy showed extreme grit that resulted in two podiums in the outdoors portion and an overall championship win on the Supercross track. McCoy and company have worked around the clock to put the program in the best position to excel, and there is no doubt that we will continue to see the 22 on podiums across the country in the new season. We sat down with McCoy to get the scoop on the #LifeOfTinley.

Give us the basics. (name, age, hometown)

I am Tinley McCoy, 13, Brighton, TN

Tell us about getting your first motorcycle.

I got my very first PDub when I was 3 years old. It was tricked out with white plastics and green powder-coated wheels. My racing number comes from my birthdate, and it’s ironic because when my dad raced, he was 21, which was also his birthdate!

Describe a typical day in your life.

A typical day in the #lifeofTinley I wake up at 8 am, hit a morning warm-up at the gym from 8:30-9, usually can find me on the track from 9:30-1:30, then get fueled back up with lots of protein, got to get some education in as well, back to the gym and leaving a little time to hang out with my friends, dinner and a shower. I love my sleep so usually in bed by 9 and ready to hit repeat the next day.

If you were forced to have a non-athletic career, what would it be?

I'd love to be a veterinarian someday

Tell us about your funnest family member.

My funniest family member is my Papa Denny, yes I have learned to get out of second gear (haha)

Best moment on a motocross bike.

My best moment so far has been getting a 4th at Loretta's in the Girls 11-16 class in 2024 and achieving some AMA number 1 plates

Describe your training program.

My training program includes morning and afternoon workouts 4-5x a week then I ride 3-4 times a week. And, hit as many races as possible on the weekends.

Favorite pre-race meal?

I don't like a heavy breakfast, usually granola and a fruit of some sort.

Gnarliest crash you’ve ever had.

At Ponca, landing off the side of a double going end over end, getting up and finishing my race.

Best road trip story.

Best road trip is heading to Loretta's which is 2 short hours from home.

Worst road trip story.

Worst road trip is having 3 flat tires in one trip, yikes.

What do you love about being at the track besides racing your bike?

Other than racing my bike, I love hanging out with my moto friends.

What are you looking forward to getting out of this sport?

I am hoping to learn lots of life skills. I’d love to be pro someday.

Give some props to everyone helping you out.

I wouldn't be where I am today without my dad, who has trained and spent day in and day out with me on my racing journey. My mom and sister who support me to no end, driving anywhere to see me practice, train or race. My whole family #22crew (grandparents, aunts, uncle and cousins) for taking time to make it to races, and last but not least my sponsors who always make sure I am taken care of:

LS2, Kyle and Brandy with OGS, Kyle and Joel at FMF, Rob Fox with Dunlop, PJ with Protaper, Aunt Jess with Senge, Motosport Inc, 512 Racing, A Team Roofing, Kirk with Xtreme Kolors, Vdub, Jered with Ride Klothing and SLM Racing.

What are your superstitions, weird habits, or routines?

My favorite routine is always having my dad at the gate with me, getting an earful of motivation then our handshake before I let ‘er rip.

What is the fitness routine or training regimen off the bike?

You can find me drinking H20, always.

Give us a hot take.

"Hey, guess who I saw today....." "......everyone I looked at"

Do you have any hidden talents or weird skills?

I am basically only talented on a dirt bike, my parents will agree.

What classes will you be racing in 2025?

In 2025, I’ll be racing Mini Senior 1 and Girls 11-16

Give us a run down of your 2024 season.

In 2024, I placed 4th at Loretta's in the Girls 11-16 class, also made it in the boys 85 class finishing 26th. I am proud of my growth on and off the track. I had a healthy year and I’m a little hungrier this year!
