DAILY BREAD LACHLAN TURNER
Lachlan Turner is a star. At 17 years old, Lala has taken the sport by storm and, in 2024, dominated the field in nearly every race she entered. Despite entering the 2024 racing season with a broken back, an injury that often causes early retirement, Lala persisted and went on to have one of the most dominant seasons in history. After three months off the bike recovering from her back injury, she would start her run with championship wins at Spring A Ding Ding and Freestone. Just two weeks after returning home from Spring Nationals, Turner shattered her heel, resulting in another long recovery. Being sidelined again lit a fire in Lala, She said: “I was just super pissed about getting hurt, I came out swinging everywhere else.” Lala never lost a step in her recovery. She hastily punched her tickets to the ranch and ultimately secured a National Championship in the Girls (11-16) class at Loretta Lynns. Later in the year at Baja Acers for the Baja Brawl, Turner would secure a total of four top-2 overall scores, including a Championship win in Women’s 12+ and a second overall result in the highly competitive Supermini 2 class. Turner would take top honors again at the Motoplayground Race at Ponca City, securing the WMX Pro Motocross Title. Lala perfectly punctuated her historic season with four championship wins at Mini O’s in Girls (11-16) and Womens 12+ for both the Supercross and Motocross portions. Looking ahead, Lala is set to continue her reign in the 2025 season allied with the Altus Motorsports Blu Cru Yamaha Amateur racing team. Give us a brief rundown on 2024, Where did you win?, What moments stood out to you?
First of all, I came into 2024 with a broken back. I went straight into the WMX pro motocross races at Spring A Ding and Freestone, and I won all of them, which was surprising after not riding for three months because of my broken back. Two weeks after I got home from spring nationals, I shattered my entire heel and had to take a lot of time off. I was just super pissed about getting hurt, and I came in swinging everywhere else. I won pretty much everything last year, which was super crazy. Yeah, I won Spring A Ding and Freestone in the Women’s and Girls classes, and then I won Loretta’s. After that, I won at the Baja Brawl and the Motoplayground Race at Ponca City, and then I won the WMX pro motocross title, which was super sick. Then I went to Mini’s os for the first time and I won all four classes in Girls and Women’s in both Supercross and Motocross. Last year was a very good year, even though I got very hurt at the beginning of the year!
