Florida boy Brayton Kreglow displayed an extreme amount of tenacity and grit in the 2024 racing season. Early in the year, Kreglow took top honors at Budds Creek for the Blu Cru invitational. Brayton put down some incredibly fast laps aboard his Yamaha. The 2-9 put his cornering and jumping abilities on full display, all while spending some quality time with the likes of Ryan Villopoto, Damon Bradshaw, and Doug Dubach. After a long spring of preparation with the Club57 mx team, Kreglow announced via social media that he would not be participating in the Loretta Lynns Amateur National due to a chain reaction of mechanical issues that happened just before the race and various other problems. Not letting It hold him down, Kreglow muscled on, trained hard, and continued putting in the work. Months later, Kreglow would go on to win a supercross championship at Gatorback Cycle Park for Mini O’s in the 85cc (12-13) limited class. It is those stories of resilience and raw work ethic that make our sport what it is. Looking ahead, Brayton is committed to redemption and will no doubt be a top contender in the 2025 racing season.

Give us the basics. (name, age, hometown)

Name: Brayton Kreglow, Age: 13 years old, Hometown: Panama City Beach, FL.

Tell us about getting your first motorcycle.

I was 3 years old when I got my first bike, it was a PW50. I remember my parents put training wheels on it and took me to a field (Don't use training wheels!!!!). I had my first crash that day, there was a log under the grass they didn’t know was there and my training wheels caught it. lol Sent me over the bars and from then on, we’ve had a love hate relationship. 3 years later I went on to win my very first Championship at Loretta Lynn’s in the 2018 Pw50 class. We still have the bike to this day.

Describe a typical day in your life.

I eat as soon as my feet hit the floor, make my bed, and get dressed for the day. Whether I'm at home or training, I always go to work out before anything else. I usually always have chores, whether that's feeding the dogs, fish, and cats, taking out the trash, doing yard work, or doing my schoolwork. I started my own business last year mowing lawns when I'm home, so I usually have those to catch up. After all my chores are done, then I have the rest of the day to do what I want. You can always find me at the beach skimboarding, surfing, golfing, fishing, riding the pitter, or going to a friend's house/camper.

If you were forced to have a non-athletic career, what would it be?

I went to work with my Dad during December, came home, and told my mom "I will not be working a regular job for a living, that was terrible. Moto has got to work out for me!" So, to answer your question, I've never even thought about doing anything different. If I had to choose, I would probably do something on the water, like being a Captain or building homes.

Tell us about your funnest family member.

My little cousin Greyson, he's my little homie. He's 3 years old, wild and crazy. He's obsessed with his dirt bike aka strider and watches the movie “Motocrossed” every day while wearing one of my old jerseys as his gear.

Best moment on a motocross bike.

Winning Loretta's when I was little and Mini O's this year. I work so hard, and a lot of things have gotten in the way whether injury, bike problems, or just life. So those are highlights I hold onto, they keep me wanting more. Especially, the PW wins, that's where it all started for me. That bike was my beginning, that first feeling of winning and accomplishing something, I remember it like it was yesterday.

Describe your training program.

I train every week with Club 57 at WW Motocross Park. I wake up at 6:30, shower, go warm up in the gym, come back, and my mom's got my breakfast ready. Then, I chill with my dog Vissla for a little bit before it’s time to get ready. Go ride, come back, wash my bike, hit the gym, and then do schoolwork. Once all the important things are done, it’s time to bark the pitter with my friends, do some fishing before dark, then dinner and bed. It's the best life!

Favorite pre-race meal?

Broccoli Cappellini, we first had it at this Italian restaurant down the road from Freestone Raceway and it's been our family favorite for about 5 years now or a ceaser salad if it's hot outside.

Gnarliest crash you’ve ever had.

The gnarliest crash… probably when I broke my femur, it was just a week after I won Loretta's. But my parents surprised me with my dog Vissla to entertain me while I was recovering so that was cool.

Best road trip story.

We went out to the AZ open, and I ended up breaking my elbow on practice day, so my parents decided to go exploring. We went to the Grand Canyon, Bearizona, and the Petrified Forest National Park. That was the best trip.

Worst road trip story.

Heading to the Lake Sugar Tree Halloween Bash, we were on the interstate, and my mom ran over a semi-tire cap. It busted the fuel tank, and fuel was spraying out everywhere, so we pulled off the next exit, which was in the middle of nowhere! We were stuck at the truck stop for 8 hours trying to figure out a plan since we were 10 hours from home and my dad was working. First, we walked across to get a Uhaul truck, and all they had was a huge 15ft one, but we tried it anyway. Once we put the bike in, we found out there was no way to strap it down, so we returned the truck. Then, after a ton of brainstorming and her talking to my mechanics, my mom ended up JB welding around the fuel tank which sealed it up enough till we could find a hotel. My dad had to drive through the night after he got off work with a car hauler to come save us. On our way back home, we ended up having a blown tire on the car hauler as well; it was a long and stressful 2 days for all of us!

What do you love about being at the track besides racing your bike?

The track is home to me, it's the only time I get to see all my friends because we all live in different states and some in different countries. So, I'd say hanging with my friends besides racing.

What are you looking forward to getting out of this sport?

My dream...to go Pro. I want to be a top contender like Tomac and Deagan. When I was 5, my parents said I used to stand on the coffee table with my strider and announce my name like they do during Supercross opening ceremonies. That’s what I do all of this for, I've been at a training facility all my life like normal kids go to school. I know what it's like to have injuries, my parents struggle between work and getting my bikes ready, and driving through the night to make it to the next race. Sleeping in the van because it costs too much between fuel, hotels, and racing. My dad works three different jobs and never gets to see me race, just to pay for it. So it's just me, my mom, and my sponsors (who are like family to us now) at all the races. None of it’s easy, but we love it and won't stop till I make it.

Give some props to everyone helping you out.

To everyone who supports me, believes in me, and helps me out, I can't thank you enough. I wouldn't have made it this far without your support and care to see me through. You've seen me at my best and worst, always helping me from trackside, to over the phone when at training and even one on one to get me dialed in. You guys are the best and I won't let you down. Yamaha, Triangle Cycles, Thor MX, Parts Unlimited, 100%, FMF, Dunlop, PR2, Club 57, Backyard Designs, Tamer, Renthal and Asterisks.

What are your superstitions, weird habits, or routines?

Every time I put my goggles on, I lift them off my face and throw my head back a couple of times just in case there might be dirt in them, even if they're brand new. When I'm on the gate, I sit and just stare down the start straight, my dad says I look like I'm meditating, lol, I just zone out all the noise. Then, I stretch my arms and back from side to side, say a prayer, and dance to whatever song is in my head. I usually sing that song the entire race to keep me pumped.

What is the fitness routine or training regimen off the bike?

Eat healthy with lots of protein, veggies, and whole grains, and stay hydrated. I work out every day with an ice bath afterward. Also, have to play some MX SIM to keep me fresh in between riding.

Give us a hot take.

I personally don’t think people should eat or drink after each other, it’s disgusting! I won’t even drink after my parents or sister, if you drink my drink you can have it.

Do you have any hidden talents or weird skills?

I don’t really have any, I’m pretty good at catching fish, my dad calls me the fish whisperer. I pretty much always catch a fish
