If you see the number 254 leading laps around the race track and feel a sense of nostalgia, it’s no random sentiment. That is Raycin Kyler, an 11-year-old rider who has taken the motocross world by storm in the past year while tugging on the heartstrings of race fans across the country. She is a top competitor in her classes, where giving the business to the boys is just a part of her daily routine. In our sport, your number is oftentimes much more than just that. It is an identity, an ethos, which couldn’t be more true for Raycin. In a touching tribute, She dons the 254, honoring a member of her family that many remember as one of the greats, Dalton Myers. Raycin has dedicated her career to carrying on his legacy. She is doing impressive work in that endeavor, as the 254 put up countless impressive scores in the 2024 racing season. At Mini O’s, she took 4th overall in Supercross in the 65cc (10-11) limited classes and complimented that with a 5th overall finish in the same class on the motocross track. At the Motoplayground Race at Ponca City, Raycin would again find the top 5 in both the 65cc (10-11) and 65cc open classes, passing the boys with her trademarked braids flying in the wind. Raycin works incredibly hard in pursuit of one over-arching goal: being the first girl to make every main event in pro motocross and supercross seasons. Raycin Kyler is an inspiration to riders across the country, all while serving as a gentle reminder to count your blessings and never forget what is important. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Raycin and company to get the details on the 254.

Give us the basics. (name, age, hometown)

(Raycin Kyler, 11, Brooksville)

Tell us about getting your first motorcycle.

My first motorcycle was a PDub. It originally came in blue, but we switched out the plastics for black ones and powder-coated the frame fluorescent green with green and black graphics. I use to shred that thang!

Describe a typical day in your life.

My typical day begins with brushing my teeth right after I wake up—lol! Following that, I jump into some schoolwork while my mom makes breakfast. I generally have a high-protein meal to fuel my muscles. Training starts at 9 a.m. on the track. After my dirtbike session, I have lunch and then get moving with a 2-mile run and a workout! Once I wrap up all the hard work, I spend a couple of hours playing with my siblings. I try to get to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.

If you were forced to have a non-athletic career, what would it be?

I’d like to be a movie star.

Tell us about your funnest family member.

My 3-year-old sister is definitely the funniest member of our family. She's a total hot mess express! With her amazing personality, you never know what she's going to say next.

Best moment on a motocross bike.

2024

MINI’OS - supercross 65cc 10-11 limited 4th

MINIO’S - motocross 65cc 10-11 limited 5th

Motoplayground Race at Ponca City – 65cc 10-11 5th, 65cc open 4th

Baja Brawl - 65 10-11 3rd, 65 10-11 limited 3rd

Describe your training program.

We train on the bike three times a week, run 2 miles, and do strength training three times a week as well. We aim to hit up every race possible on the weekends to get some gate drops.

Favorite pre-race meal?

My favorite pre-race meal is a high-protein breakfast omelette.

Gnarliest crash you’ve ever had.

The craziest crash I've experienced was likely at Lincoln Trail. There was a high-speed drop-in, and my back tire kicked out, throwing me sideways and causing me to high side.

Best road trip story.

Buccees (enough said)

Worst road trip story.

Any road trip longer than 10 hours is the worst—lol!

What do you love about being at the track besides racing your bike?

My favorite part about going to the track, besides riding, is catching up with all my friends.

What are you looking forward to getting out of this sport?

I’m looking forward to becoming the first girl to qualify for all the main events in pro motocross and supercross racer.

Give some props to everyone helping you out.
