Hailing from the Colorado Rockies, McKayden Fitch is an unbelievable talent on just about anything with two wheels. McKayden is a member of one of the fastest families in the sport. Many would argue that Mr. Magoo has been destined for greatness since birth, following in the bootprints of his father, Robert Fitch, one of the best to swing a leg over a motorcycle. No matter what track you show up to on the weekend, there is a good chance that a Fitch will be out there, leading laps. McKayden’s 2024 season was incredibly consistent. The 2-9’s technical riding ability and knack for hitting sections wide open granted him top-10 finishes at nearly every track he showed up to. Fitch secured podium honors at Loretta’s in the Schoolboy 1 class after one of the most technically adept rides we saw all year. Fitch paired it with a 6th place overall finish in 125 B/C, resulting in a very solid week at the ranch. Looking ahead, all eyes are on the 29 heading into the 2025 season. Fitch recently inked a deal with the notoriously fast Altus Motorsports Blu Cru Yamaha Amateur Team and is geared up to go big in the new year. We caught up with Mr. Magoo to get the details on all things McKayden Fitch.

Give us the basics. (name, age, hometown)

Mckayden Fitch, 14 y/o, Denver Colorado

Tell us about getting your first motorcycle.

I got my first dirt bike when I was two and the day I got it, I rode it around our shop. It was  a 2012 PW 50

Describe a typical day in your life.

I wake up, eat some breakfast, go to the gym for a 15-minute cycle, and do some stretches. Then I go back and get my gear on and go out and ride for about 3 to 4 hours. Then, I get back and take my gear off, eat some lunch, go to the gym, and do a workout. After that, I’ll hang out with my friends and ride pit bikes or whatever we do that day.

If you were forced to have a non-athletic career, what would it be?

I would probably play video games lol

Tell us about your funnest family member.

My older sister Hallie, is 23 years old and is a dental worker. She is going to the military for dental.

Best moment on a motocross bike.

My supermini championship at Mini O’s

Describe your training program. I do a warmup in the morning to get my blood flowing then I ride for a little bit then we go to the gym.

Favorite pre-race meal?

Anything that has a bunch of red 40 lol.

Gnarliest crash you’ve ever had.

I’m not too sure, I’ve had some pretty gnarly ones.

Best road trip story.

I’m not too sure what the best story was but the best road trip was probably when my entire family went to Anaheim 1, that was fun

Worst road trip story.

Probably when we were on our way back home from Ponca and our motor home broke down.

What do you love about being at the track besides racing your bike?

Hanging out with all my friends and riding around on pit bikes.

What are you looking forward to getting out of this sport?

Becoming a professional and making enough money to live off of the rest of my life.

Give some props to everyone helping you out.

Can’t thank the Yamaha Altus team enough for helping me out this year, moose racing, 100%, bell helmets, alpinstar boots, Dunlop, odi, guts, Enzo suspension, and everybody that supports me, thank you.

What are your superstitions, weird habits, or routines?

I’m not really too sure lol, I don’t really have any weird habits. I mean- I like to make my brother mad if that’s a weird habit lol, but I’m always doing different things every day.

What is the fitness routine or training regimen off the bike?

I do a warm-up cycle every day in the morning and I go to the gym every day in the afternoon

Give us a hot take.

Justin Barcia winning the Supercross title.

Do you have any hidden talents or weird skills?

I’m good at BMX bikes, golfing, and I enjoy fishing. Weird skills, umm… I’m insane at Fortnite and Mx bikes, lol, and I can change a tire in under 4 minutes.
