TY MASTERPOOL

Ty Masterpool had displayed a multitude of skills on varying machines throughout his career thus far, and once again excelled aboard his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki machine in recent memory. The skillset of the Texan would flourish while he competed in Indiana as well, and after speeding through practice, Ty moved forward with a series of strong opening laps and notable passes — earning a first lap standing of fifth when passing by the green flag. Though he would move forward instantly after sweeping past teammate Levi Kitchen, all the while knowing that the veteran Ken Roczen was just behind him...as the two had battled for particular lines, immediately following the starting sequence. Masterpool would weave through numerous outside lines while trying to generate as much speed as possible, though Roczen’s race-craft was next level, and Ty couldn’t afford to leave the door “too open,” so to speak, otherwise the German rider would instantly advance. As lap number five came to fruition, Ken had done just that, but the ability of Masterpool to counter among the circuits that followed was paramount. He would advance past both, Roczen and Chance Hynmas on the ninth lap before obtaining the third-place residency...which appeared to be secured. Though in the final stages of the moto, a wash-out when departing from the wooded area would result in him sliding to the sixth-place position — with Ryder DiFrancesco not far behind, and R.J. Hampshire now just ahead. However, he wasn’t done in regard to clawing his way forward...and would pass the Honda athlete (i.e. Hymas) one more time before all was finalized, earning a score of fifth after relentlessly charging! As gate(s) fell for the latter moto of the afternoon, Masterpool would score a position of eighth before seeking to move even further up the leaderboard. Numerous inside grooves were now developed around the raceway, with some spanning a rather extensive length which caused certain athletes to become off-balanced...but not Ty, who consistently remained upright and limited his mistakes as fatigue became more evident in the pack around him. He had moved into sixth by lap three, but knew that RJ Hampshire was going to be quite difficult to surpass...and in the process of trying to find an efficient line, Ken Roczen would advance to his rear wheel — overtaking him for a number of laps, before Ty would counter and move forward on the tenth circuit! At that point in the moto, Masterpool could see DiFrancesco and Hampshire not far ahead...and proceeded to accelerate with one-hundred percent effort in order to gain time on the aforementioned opponents. Though he was unable to overtake either of them, he would score an eventual final position of sixth which was applauded by fans around the facility — earning sixth overall in the process!
