HUNTER LAWRENCE

Honda’s Hunter Lawrence was an athlete who was always in contention for victory. Regardless of the conditions, where he stood in the championship, etc. the racer who sported the number ninety-six across his machine would always have to be accounted for. That notion was carried through Budds Creek as well, where his position within the earliest portions of moto-one appeared to be contending for the lead...until he and Justin Cooper would collide over the tunnel jump with the entire pack trailing them! Lawrence’s body appeared unscathed, however his motorcycle seemed to undergo a bit more trouble which caused him to briefly fade. Though he immediately resumed the charge to the front, pressuring Aaron Plessinger in the laps thereafter to eventually take the lead just before the ten-minute mark had transpired. However, he couldn’t ignore the charge from Chase Sexton who was beginning inch closer and closer to his rear wheel. The Illinois native was persistent, in not letting Lawrence travel out of reach — but the red-plate holder would eventually tip over, with just over five minutes on the clock to give Lawrence an ample gap that was needed to ultimately secure the victory. The feeling of accomplishment would accompany Lawrence’s travel(s) past the checkered flag — and the stage had been set for race two, following the opening segment victory. Hunter’s start to begin the following moto was epic, and after a brief battle with Aaron Plessinger, the number ninety-six proceeded to accelerate aboard the roughened raceway. He was excelling among countless crusted ruts, that offered no forgiveness if a rider were ever off-balanced. Though for this race as well, the incredible pace of Chase Sexton couldn’t be denied. Sexton proceeded to unleash a plethora of momentum when nearing the twenty-five minute mark...which Lawrence would try to nullify. However, after one of the steepest downhill jumps on the side of the circuit that was opposite from the starting gate, Sexton pushed forward with an output of speed that couldn’t be stopped. The red-plate holder would clinch the lead over the subtle Monster Energy tabletop thereafter, and never look back...leaving Lawrence seemingly all alone in the runner-up position, en route to the finish line. In the end, Hunter’s combination of one-two scores, was enough to propel him to second overall in the final standings — where he remained in contention for the overall championship.
