ELI TOMAC

After signing a contract extension for the entire 2025 season, Yamaha’s Eli Tomac appeared rejuvenated and eager to be back on track on the competitive Ironman circuit. He was exceptional in every facet, and soared through the air over the massive jumps on the Indiana racetrack with composure, before embarking on the opening race of the afternoon. The 250MX class had made an array of lines on the layout, and Tomac instantly found a flow within the top-five while surging through the first lap. He was established in fourth while seeking to gain as much time on the top three competitors (i.e. Lawrence, Plessinger, and Sexton) as possible. Tomac was pummeling the braking bumps on the course with his patented hard-charging style, sliding the rear wheel on occasion via a stomping of the back brake — all the while allowing the clutch of the Yamaha 450 to possess the entirety of the engine’s velocity, before dumping the left-handed lever and unleashing a wrath of speed that no one could deny! His process of trying to stay within reach of Hunter Lawrence was applauded by the crowd, and as a result, he would distance his machine from that of Jason Anderson. In the end, it was Tomac who assembled a performance that was a near replica of what was showcased in Maryland the week before...earning fourth before entering into the second portion of afternoon action. Following his pass on Jason Anderson, Eli Tomac would secure the fifth-place standing after just a few minutes of competition in moto-two. His sights were set on Hunter Lawrence at that time, and he proceeded to bombard the Australian with a barrage of outside lines that encompassed the highest speeds. Finally, an opening would appear just before the newly built wooded area at the seven-minute mark — and the combination of brute strength, and pure force that the Yamaha rider demonstrated would be enough to overpower the line(s) of the Honda rider. He was now third, and did his best to mirror the pace that both KTM athletes (i.e. Plessinger and Sexton) were putting forth. Though unable to overtake either of them, the legend of the sport certainly showcased that he still possessed elite level speed and extraordinary talent...eventually racing his way to an exceptional result of third, and third overall as well for the final round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship!
