CHASE SEXTON

Seeking to obtain the 450MX Championship while stationed in Indiana, KTM’s Chase Sexton appeared to embrace the moment while competing in various practice rounds on Saturday. He would fly to the pinnacle position of the leaderboard, establishing a lap-time of two minutes and ten-seconds before departing into the first moto. The start straightaway, and accompanying sections thereafter were a bit altered in comparison to season’s past — but Sexton found his way to a position of fourth in the early going while hoping to advance further, rather quickly. Once past Nicoletti, it was time to close-in on Hunter Lawrence — who he would pass just before the finish-line, after six and a half minutes of competion. The runner-up position was his, yet Sexton was continuing to strive...hoping to surpass Aaron Plessinger next. The goal of claiming the first-place standing was then actualized, right after the ten-minute mark had transpired — over the infield tabletop, where the red-plate holder seized the lead. Once that pivotal pass had occurred, Sexton was in total command of the field, dictating the pace of all aboard his KTM motorcycle. Eventually storming to the checkered flag to collect the moto win, he was also designated as the 450MX Champion! However, he wanted to conclude the outdoor tenure with another brilliant performance in the second portion of competition as well...and as action began, a solid start for the Illinois native would enable him to move into the lead, after completing three-quarter(s) of the first lap. He had passed opponents like Justin Cooper, Hunter Lawrence, and then Aaron Plessinger before sweeping past the green flag! Sexton was on another level, and beginning to break away from the field until a stalling of the motor (in the right-handed corner after the finish line), seemingly nullified the gap that he had made, over Aaron Plessinger. This was just before the halfway point, yet somehow, Sexton remained in the lead by only bike lengths...before sprinting away once more. There wasn’t anything that could stand in his way, where he continued to advance and distance his machine from the entire field behind him. Through the final few circuits, the roaring of the crowd would become more evident...and Sexton would embody the sense of accomplishment before rolling through the final corner. Upon passing the eventual checkered flag, the athlete aboard the number four machine scored a multitude of accolades — including the moto victory, the overall win, and the aforementioned number one plate, for his series championship feat!
