PIERCE BROWN

Quietly contending for top-tier finishes yet again, was Utah’s Pierce Brown. It seemed as if at every venue in recent memory, would the GasGas rider manage to power his way into the top-ten — with rides that embodied strength and fortitude. Once again, those traits were displayed in Maryland as he sped through the muddy conditions of qualification...and as he garnered a twelfth-place standing on the first full lap of competition for moto one, Brown’s trajectory would have to be acknowledged by the competition. Before the large, uphill triple jump, would Pierce accelerate with the utmost intensity. His chassis would dance from side to side on occasion when blasting across the forthcoming downhill, yet Pierce’s fearlessness enabled him to continue aggressively seeking higher speeds — which would wow the crowd, that stood within the area. He and Garrett Marchbanks would rival one another in the early going, but Brown seemed to possess a bit more corner speed on the far side of the racetrack...which enable the number thirty-nine machine to make its way into single digit territory, ahead of Nicholas Romano. Jalek Swoll was next to be encountered when passing through the halfway point, but the pair of Triumph’s that were ahead (along with Joey Savatgy) were rather hard to overtake...especially with lap traffic coming into play. However Pierce remained relentless with the highest gears of the transmission, pummeling braking bumps with the throttle pinned, which led to an optimal position of advancement with the checkered flag nearing. Chance Hymas would unfortunately crash on the last lap, which resulted in Pierce gaining one more spot in the running order prior to the checkered flag waving — earning a respectable seventh-place feat, before exiting the raceway. In the second round of competition, Brown’s starting position (of sixth) would place him amongst the chaos of the stacked, 250MX division. For many, this scenario was quite difficult to remain calm in — but the composure, by Pierce, was commendable as he sped to the top of “Henry Hill.” A light flicking of the chassis to the right, would precede a swift corner carve in the bend thereafter — all the while, speeding past Julien Beaumer to acquire fifth. But Tom Vialle would have to be dealt with, and the KTM athlete surpassed him to deter him to sixth. Though as minutes would pass, Ty Masterpool (who was ahead) would begin to fade...resulting in an eventual position gained, on behalf of Pierce. Which led to the narrative, of Pierce’s quite consistency once again keeping him among successful results in the 250MX division...where he was finalized in fifth, to earn seventh overall on the day!
