JULIEN BEAUMER

Steadily continuing to build his resumé while racing at the professional level, was KTM’s Julien Beaumer. He appeared to be in total synchronization with the track in Maryland throughout practice, and propelled from the starting area to the inside of the layout...avoiding the troublesome first turn crash, and simultaneously obtaining the third-place position in the running order! The talent of the Arizona native was being showcased via the aforementioned bronze-medal position in the opening stages of race one where he was defending his spot from Chance Hymas while also seeking to replicate the line choices of Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen. Beaumer’s prowess on this technical circuit was tremendous, and it appeared as if the KTM athlete had ridden this course a thousand times...the way he was flowing through various off-cambered bends! There was a bit of resemblance between this circuit, and the way that most SX courses developed — in terms of technicality. And even with Chance Hymas making his way by on the sixth lap, the supporting cast of Beaumer couldn’t have been more proud with how he was riding, when nearing the halfway point. He and teammate Tom Vialle then underwent another battle, with test track rivalries now carrying over into the highest form of two-wheeled racing — and the rookie (Beaumer) wasn’t showing any sign(s) of fear, as he conceded alongside the former MXGP champion! He would follow Vialle as Tom worked his way past...which led to an optimal position, as pivotal changes in the 250cc top-ten were shuffled, per se. Chance Hymas would unfortunately crash on the last lap, and with Beaumer being so close to the pinnacle of the field, Julien would gain a position — earning a final score of fourth, before moving into moto two! Once there, his start was nearly categorized as perfect, once more...where he gathered a standing of fourth, after the first full lap of competition. He would have to analyze and pinpoint the smallest details of the circuit when advancing at high rates of speed — keeping the chassis under total control while nullifying the harsh braking bumps that had amassed across the steepest of hillsides. Though passed by Ty Masterpool and Pierce Brown, Beaumer remained in the fight...continuing to latch onto Tom Vialle as well with his teammate moving forward. Through the halfway point, his momentum and ability to mimic Vialle was enough to keep Jordon Smith at bay, for a good portion of time at least. The veteran was strong enough to surpass him on the twelfth circuit...but not without a fight being put forth by Beaumer. The race had now spanned well over twenty-minutes, with heart rates spiking and fatigue beginning to amplify...but he combatted the elements with a sense of grit that was hard to describe. This led to not only, Ty Masterpool being surpassed, but RJ Hampshire remaining behind him as well — earning a final moto score of seventh, for sixth overall for the Budds Creek National!
