HAIDEN DEEGAN

The red-plate holder was once again a threat to win in Washougal...and after qualifying into the main event(s) with a third-place standing for practice, everyone in attendance knew that Haiden Deegan was going to contend for victory as the checkered flag(s) were thrown. He immediately strove for the pinnacle spot in the field...after the gates had fallen — but would drift to second as Tom Vialle took the lead before the green flag of moto-one. Haiden was leaping from the top(s) of various singles, and appeared to be on a sensational path...until a slight crash just after the finish-line (before the five-minute mark) would deter him to third, amongst a pack of daring riders. He quickly resumed the second-place standing though, after surpassing Ryder DiFrancesco and putting both he, and teammate Jordon Smith behind him. Minutes continuously passed, but Deegan couldn’t seem to diminish the margin in which the Frenchman had created...though he was fierce with his fight, and tenacity on the motorcycle. In the end, at the conclusion of the fifteen-lap contest, it was the Yamaha rider (i.e. Deegan) who claimed second before exiting the raceway. He immediately rivaled Tom Vialle for the lead in the following moto, but it was the KTM rider who once again took reign, of the field. Deegan proceeded to stalk the French rider and his pathways around the circuit, waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce. The process of zeroing-in, led to a slight inside window of sorts being presented just before the twelve-minute mark had transpired. It was within the switchback section immediately after the finish-line, where Deegan’s hopping, balance, and velocity aboard the Yamaha were enough to nullify the ambition of Vialle once and for all! Deegan would close the door upon making the move within the tighter area(s) of racetrack...but proceeded to engage in phenomenal speeds in the minutes that followed. He funneled from rut to rut with at the highest RPM ranges, shifting through the transmission with only subtle stabs of the clutch while never taking his sight(s) off of the checkered flag that was to come. Over time, the distance between he and Tom Vialle would only separate further — with a surplus of well over ten-seconds being sustained, as he approached the final obstacle on the track. The crowd cheered, his supporters roared, and once again, would the California native establish dominance in the Pacific Northwest! There was something to be said, as to just how fast he could go around this Washougal facility...and with the second moto victory, the Yamaha rider would earn yet another overall win, amid the 2024 250MX Championship!
