JASON ANDERSON

Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson was incredible for practice sessions in Millville...and eventually made his way into the pole position as all concluded. However, the number twenty-one machine could be seen crashing to the ground before the second round of qualifying ended, where he and multiple other riders would land atop one another, atop a steep hill before the finish-line! Luckily he appeared uninjured, and surged into moto one with confidence. His ambition throughout the opening moments was strong, running in the fourth-place position. A pair of KTM’s, along with an opponent on a Honda, were within a respectable distance in front of him to begin...and Anderson would prove that his prowess was paralleled to theirs. He continued to flourish through the halfway point as it came to fruition, and despite the aforementioned trio (including Sexton, Lawrence, and Plessinger) beginning to slightly distance themselves, Jason wasn’t going to give up when powering to the checkered flag. The Kawasaki rider continued to put forth an admirable charge, and raced to the eventual concluding obstacle with fourth-place secured...exiting the raceway with ambition for the second round. He immediately battled with Hunter Lawrence for the second-place standing in the following moto, but would reside third through ten minutes of action. He remained there, before being surpassed by Chase Sexton. As he continued to charge within the fourth-place standing, he would make his way into the presence of Justin Cooper, around the twenty-minute mark. He (Anderson) wasn’t going to let the podium feat slip away that easily...and pressured the Yamaha rider for a substantial amount of time. The effort was admirable, and Anderson somehow could toggle between his patented loose-fitting style, all the while remaining in total control aboard his Kawasaki chassis. He was smooth in the final stages, when the deepest portion(s) of sand had now been flung to the outer banks of the raceway, and even as mud would amass on the Millville circuit, Jason remained upright — and appeared to have fourth-place solidified as the checkered flag neared. His gap over Aaron Plessinger was more than enough, and he was still within a reasonable distance of Justin Cooper (i.e eight-seconds) as all concluded for this moto. Ultimately finalized in the aforementioned position of fourth, his consistency throughout the day (i.e. four-four) translated to a fifth-place standing, as final results were read. Yet it may have been the overall speed and momentum of Anderson, that were traits that couldn’t be denied...especially with the series approaching the Washougal round.
