“AP” would display immense tenacity while at Red Bud last weekend, and wanted to replicate those efforts, for the seventh round of the championship in Minnesota. He was solid in practice, and looked to storm to the front of the pack in the initial stages of moto-one. A brilliant jump from the opening gate(s) would equate to second, as he did his best to try and contain Hunter Lawrence, who led the field around. However, his aspirations of overtaking the Honda rider would be nullified after a few laps of action, where Chase Sexton would surpass him on the downhill slope, that preceded the initial uphill of Mt. Martin. Now third, it was time for him to solidify his pace in the bronze-medal position. Though Jason Anderson wasn’t too far behind, Plessinger kept an eye on the battle in front of him...rather than allowing his thought process to drift, and worry about the veteran from New Mexico who trailed. He received cues from his mechanic to continue pressing forward, and would do so, after being one of only three riders to race within the 2:07 range...which ultimately led to Plessinger acquiring third, at the checkered flag. For the second moto, he resided fifth to begin the contest...and immediately began to pressure Dylan Ferrandis for fourth. He would overtake the French rider on the downhill of Mt. Martin, before sliding out immediately thereafter — quickly returning to eighth, as he returned to his previously established flow. Plessinger then stormed to fifth, after putting opponents including Phil Nicoletti, Dylan Ferrandis, and Christian Craig behind him once and for all...which he registered, near the halfway point of the moto. Jason Anderson was the next racer to battle amongst, but the Kawasaki rider would have to be credited for how well he was riding. It seemed as though each time Plessinger aspired to make a run toward the competitor aboard the number twenty-one machine, would the resident of the Southwest somehow manage to counter, and accelerate on his own behalf! This would lead to Plessinger appearing to be solidified in the fifth-place residency as the checkered flag neared...and as he crested the final obstacle, the aforementioned score was enough to equate to fourth in the final standings — proving once again, that the KTM athlete could contend with anyone on the division, amid the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
