JASON ANDERSON

With various contenders from the SX series, not currently competing the outdoor championship, riders like Jason Anderson knew that they could capitalize on the stakes that were presented in Buchanan, Michigan. Anderson wasn’t one to be counted out or discredited in any racing genre, and he proceeded to unleash an abundance of speed as the green flag waved for practice...earning an eventual gate choice of fifth, before embarking on the first moto. Once leaping from the line to begin the opening contest of the afternoon, he sped forward among thousands of fans that screamed from the side-line — residing around the sixth-place position before overtaking Grant Harlan. Now into fifth, it was a difficult process to try and lessen the margin that had been created by Justin Cooper (who occupied fourth), but Anderson wasn’t going to give anything less than his best effort as he attempted to tackle the gap between he and the Yamaha rider. He (Anderson) would scrub his way over the multitude of tabletops and jumps on the course with authority, landing with unrivaled aggressiveness aboard his Kawasaki chassis. Through the rollers, he seemed to locate a smooth pathway on the furthest outside edge of the section, and remained incredibly fast throughout the moguls, even past the twenty-minute mark of the moto! As a result, he would garner a score of fifth before exiting the raceway...seemingly in his own realm, before advancing to the second moto of competition. In moto two, he would immediately strive for a definitive lead after a remarkable starting sequence, contending with Kyle Webster for the first-place designation while speeding through the Pro Section. Neither were going to budge when attacking the elevation changes on the first half of the course, and both riders were willing to bang bars in order to clinch the pinnacle position! After coming together (slightly) after the initial uphill triple, it was Anderson’s charge that placed him above all others in the field...and he would maintain the lead through (roughly) five minutes of action, before Chase Sexton overtook him. The next battle that he would undergo, would be between he and Aaron Plessinger — yet the KTM athlete would possess enough speed on the sixth lap, to surpass the New Mexico native. He was now into the third-place residency and appeared to be cemented within this pace and output of speed...though he couldn’t relax, due to Honda’s Hunter Lawrence continuing to lurk in the fourth-place position. He combatted the charge of the Honda rider in the final stages, however, and was ultimately finalized in a remarkable third-place standing for this moto...which equated to fourth place in the final standings, of this 450MX division.
