TY MASTERPOOL

The talent of the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider was undeniable — and Ty Masterpool’s previous performances at the Red Bud National were certainly ones to be remembered, as practice began for the Fourth of July weekend. He was constantly contesting for the highest positions throughout a multitude of qualifying sessions and made sure to bring the same intensity to the opening sequences of moto one. Surging from the grate(s) he secured a standing of first, after battling with Tom Vialle in the opening corner. However, it was among the initial downhill(s) of the pro section, where Masterpool would be overtaken by Chance Hymas...and he was forced to follow the Idaho native for a significant portion of time. Though Hymas began to slow, just a bit, when entering into the twenty-one minute mark...and among the roller section on their proceeding trek, Masterpool saw an opportunity to take advantage of Chance’s fatigue — pushing him to the inner most boundary of the racetrack upon landing from the finish line, and forcing the Honda rider to let off the throttle as they barreled into the forthcoming corner! Hymas had no choice but to obligé, and Ty became the recipient of first place. Once into the lead, Masterpool would take advantage of the opened raceway. Though the occasional lapper would divert him from a desired line, Masterpool seemed to maintain the gap over a surging Haiden Deegan, until the final two laps came to fruition. The occasional look-back (on behalf of Masterpool) was indicative, of Masterpool’s awareness toward Deegan. Though mistakes were made, and the Yamaha rider was striving with all of his might, somehow Ty would manage to defend the number thirty-eight through the checkered flag! The battle only spanned bike lengths, but Masterpool would somehow manage to cross the line...only milliseconds ahead of the Californian, to claim the win! For moto-two, Masterpool was determined to make a statement. His sense of motivation was evident when speeding through the first lap, gathering a standing of seventh in the initial stages. He then passed Daxton Bennick for sixth, though Tom Vialle and Haiden Deegan were not far behind him. Once into the top-five, it was a battle among he and Levi Kitchen...where he overtook the number forty-seven around the seven minute mark — among the Pro Section, and then proceeded to charge toward Jo Shimoda for second. But the Honda rider (along with Chance Hymas, who led) were both riding extremely well at the front of the pack. Yet Masterpool wasn’t going to cease, in regard to putting forth his strongest effort — as the rear wheel of his Kawasaki machine continuously spun, through every aspect of the course. He appeared to be cemented within the third-place residency until lap twelve, when fatigue began accumulate...which forced him to lessen his pace and output of momentum. As a result, Levi Kitchen and Tom Vialle would both overtake him, leaving him fifth at the finish line...yet still acquiring second overall, as final results were calculated!
