Yet another competitor from Australia would infiltrate the front of the field, for the fifth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. And on a Honda, at that! It was none other than Kyle Webster, who traveled to the United States to participate in a few rounds, and the world-renowned competitor had generated quite the buzz from the crowd, long before moto’s began in Massachusetts. He would qualify tenth, before undergoing a bit of misfortune on the first lap of the opening race...and though his initial residency was thirty-second, Webster wasn’t going to give up in regard to obtaining points. Instead, he began to slice through the sandy canvas with a disregard for previous lines — making his own pathways while creating passes that weren’t really seen by the opponents around him. Hopping through the rollers with confidence, his ability to float among the deepest potholes while keeping the front-end light, was paramount — and aided his advancement into the top-twenty after the halfway point. When others began to fatigue, Webster seemed to excel and flourish...pushing his way past Jerry Robin and Freddie Noren, not long before the checkered flag was waved. Through adversity, Webster was able to reside in the seventeenth place position...but he knew that redemption was set to be put forth in the following round. His position within the running order as the green flag waved for moto-two, would be phenomenal — garnering sixth, while just behind Justin Cooper. Though Dylan Ferrandis passed him not long thereafter, Webster proceeded to keep Christian Craig and Garrett Marchbanks at bay, for the entire moto! He was flourishing through the twenty-minute mark once again, and could sense the multitude of top-tier riders not far behind his rear wheel. But rather than second-guess himself, he would nod to his mechanic when flying by the row of team members, revving the throttle at maximum velocity when scrubbing his over the single(s) that were just after the first turn! Justin Cooper had descended just a bit, within the running order as the white flag was thrown...and Webster did all in his power to try and overtake the New York native. Though just short as engines ceased, it was the run by the Australian which claimed a final score of seventh, to end the moto! And with his surge among the latter afternoon race, Webster’s overall placement in the record book, was tenth!
