JULIEN BEAUMER
KTM’s Julien Beaumer looked to succeed on the muddy terrain of this Pennsylvania facility. There was little that any rider could do to prepare for the treacherous conditions of practice, but the athlete from Arizona seemed to flourish as the track became more technical. With his jet-ski background undoubtedly aiding his skillset when sliding through turns and pivoting the motorcycle through the narrowest of grooves, Beaumer seemed polished on a circuit where many other opponents were struggling. This set the stage for the opening moto, where he distributed his weight to the front of the motorcycle, and combatted the raising of the front wheel as his 250F dug for traction among the start straightaway. Through the chaotic circumstances that laps one, two, and three would bring, Beaumer would somehow remain consistent while sustaining the seventh-place position. He would move into sixth after passing Nicholas Romano, but was then surpassed by Haiden Deegan. He also advanced a position due to Tom Vialle’s mistake, but could never seem to generate the optimal array of lines that were needed, in order to pass Ryder DiFrancesco. Both he and Ryder didn’t have an extensive amount of experience on this track, but were gathering knowledge on the fly. Their vision seemed to locate the nuanced of details, and their riding style/body position on their respective machines was indicative of that. When nearing the checkered flag, it was an all-out fight to the finish line from both competitors...especially as Jalek Swoll and Tom Vialle (who trailed Beaumer) were proceeding to advance their pace, too! However, Julien’s prowess when under pressure remained mistake-free — earning sixth, at the checkered flag. He strove to build from the moto-one performance in the second round, but would begin the first lap near a standing of fourteenth. He immediately went to work, and showcased brilliant outside to inside pathways, where he deviated from the largest of braking bumps and square-edges in the main line. Launching over the longest, flyaway jump that was on the opposite side of the starting gate, Beaumer was constantly looking ahead while landing with maximum power to the ground. The athlete aboard the number 929 machine had worked his way into tenth by lap seven, all the while passing Coty Schock, Ryder McNabb, and Nicholas Romano. He was following the pattern(s) of Ryder DiFrancesco, but when the GasGas athlete began to lessen his pace, Beaumer proceeded to take advantage. He (Julien) was remarkable among the final ten minutes of competition — excelling while on a similar trajectory to Joey Savatgy. And with a few mistakes being displayed on behalf of Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen, Beaumer was able to surpass him on the final lap! This led to a remarkable moto score of eighth-place being garnered, for sixth overall in Pennsylvania!
