DYLAN FERRANDIS

The rider from France was steadily searching for optimal settings, and the flow of year’s past aboard his Honda machine thus far in 2024. The talent level of Dylan Ferrandis was never in question, and he appeared to be on a superb path to the front of the pack after securing a gate choice of tenth. Once clicking into gear, there was little that could deter Dylan from aspiring for a top-tier position — and he acquired an incredible placement of third, just behind the Lawrence brothers! He was contending upon the raceway alongside Jett, and seemed to be in perfect synchronization with how the bike was responding. Though passed by Chase Sexton and Justin Cooper, he would regain the position taken by the Yamaha rider rather quickly — due to the near crash by the New York native, just after the second corner. However, Justin wasn’t going away that easily...therefore Dylan had to increase his defensive tactic(s) per se, where he appeared to safeguard many of the inside lines. The tireless process forced Cooper wide onto a number of occasions...but on the ninth lap, the prowess of the 450cc rookie was too much for Ferrandis to defend. This led to he (Dylan) and Aaron Plessinger eventually battling for one final position, en route to the finish line. The athlete aboard the number fourteen machine wasn’t going to give up, but Plessinger was a bit too proficient within the longest ruts, and surpassed the French athlete before the checkered flag. Residing sixth, the performance for Dylan was definitely something to be proud of. After beginning (roughly) around the tenth-place position to begin the second moto, Ferrandis wasn’t far off of the pace from Justin Barcia...after the former SX champion had worked his way into seventh. Ferrandis had passed Phil Nicoletti, Shane McElrath, and Malcolm Stewart while also overtaking for sixth on lap five! There was little that could stand in his way, but once again, he and Cooper would be bar-to-bar in the switchback(s) after the downhill rollers...with both looking to surge into the top-five. Ferrandis’ throttle control on the now, slickest parts of the raceway (where blue-grooved racetrack appeared) certainly showcased his French roots...and even with the track now almost unrecognizable compared to how it appeared on Press Day, Ferrandis continued to flourish. Occupying a final standing of seventh at the final flag, his scores throughout the day were consistent enough for a seventh overall placement, too.
