PIERCE BROWN

The exceptional prowess of Pierce Brown was immediately identified by thousands of fans on the side-lines as action began on Saturday. The rider aboard the GasGas brand was stellar in all facets — flying among hills of varying angles at the top of the transmission (and RPM range) with no sign(s) of slowing down when entering into a particular apex. He appeared ready, and eager to combat whatever was thrown his way...therefore when shifting into gear as the thirty-second board went sideways, his dash to the first corner was one of pure aggression. Securing an initial spot of eighth there was a constant fight between he and opponents like Daxton Bennick, who were acting as persistent foes in every facet of the raceway. In the corner after the mechanic’s area, the landscape amongst the grooves promoted intense racing and quick-witted reaction time(s) — where the inside of the turn was initially the quickest, but as trenches grew deeper throughout the moto, many at the top of the leaderboard would gravitate further and further toward the middle, and eventual outside. It was like this everywhere, for that of Brown and his mentality that could adapt in the blink of an eye. Landing from the largest leaps with his throttle pinned, his emphasis on the smallest details of garnering momentum was definitive by the time the checkered flag was near...pulling away from Jalek Swoll (after surpassing the Triumph rider), while also distancing his machine away from Kawasaki’s Ty Masterpool who had pressured him throughout the moto...to eventually sustain an admirable sixth-place feat as the race concluded. For the following round of action, his aspirations were tremendous — and his ability to weave through the confines of turns one and two were evident of that, looking as though he hovered around a standing inside the top twenty. Everyone within the pack was chasing Honda’s Chance Hymas and Yamaha’s Haiden Deegan, with engines revving amongst the hillside when barreling across downhills that were now littered with square edged bumps. The margin between he and Jordon Smith (initially) wasn’t enough for him to ever subside in his pursuit of higher speeds, but with persistence, he would distance himself from the Yamaha rider. With Brown’s chassis appearing rather plush, when hitting the aforementioned bumps at a higher speed. His attack stance, wasn’t fading either — even when eclipsing the twenty-minute mark and the elements of altitude, decaying soil etc. beginning to amass. The final five laps (or so) were pivotal if he wanted to garner an eighth-place overall...and somehow, someway, the aforementioned sector of circuits were spectacular enough, that they appeared to mirror his opening portion(s) of the moto! Fighting through adversity, after he had started well outside of the top-fifteen, Brown had garnered numerous positions while passing opponents such as Nicholas Romano, Mark Fineis, and the aforementioned Jordon Smith...among countless others, en route to a notable standing of ninth, which was just behind Joey Savatgy — for ninth overall in the standings, respectively.
