JASON ANDERSON

Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson was a rider who was always in contention for victory. With varying soils and layouts being presented at each venue on the tour, Anderson’s world-renowned prowess was able to adapt and thrive in a multitude of circumstances...which made him a threat for success, while stationed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Flying over the step-up/tunnel jump, while also displaying remarkable technique among flattened corners (via his New Mexico roots), the former 450SX Champion was rolling forward with momentum as the night show came to fruition. Despite encountering a bit of trouble in the initial stages of heat two (where he collided with Adam Cianciarulo) Anderson forcefully worked his way through the pack while making passes on riders like Kyle Chisholm, Dylan Ferrandis, and Freddie Noren. He had acquired the fifth-place standing with only a few minutes remaining, and proceeded to hound Mitchell Oldenburg with all of his might. A brilliant cut, to the inside of the first corner solidified the move for fourth as he then neared the checkered flag. Ultimately finalized here as all was calculated, the determination of the New Mexico native seemed palpable with the finalé just around the corner.  As the gate(s) fell for the points paying, concluding showcase of the evening, Anderson had infiltrated a standing inside the top-five...and as he made his moves around the racetrack, Jason saw an opportunity to take Hunter Lawrence to the top of the berm before the finish line. Only a few minutes had transpired, and the number ninety-six was seen then flying over the top of the corner! Anderson had forced Hunter to the ground while inheriting the fourth-place position, behind Cooper Webb. He was attempting to gain as much time on the North Carolina resident as possible, but Anderson would actually approach the rear wheel of Hunter later on in the race, as he was being lapped. At that point, in the sweeping corner before the longest rhythm section, Hunter would run Anderson wide...colliding and forcing Anderson’s path to the outskirts of the racetrack! This severely hindered Anderson’s run to the podium, but Jason was able to regain his composure and travel to an eventual fourth-place residency. Though the race was concluded, both he and Hunter Lawrence appeared to have an in-depth discussion on what occurred...thickening the plot between the two racers with the outdoor championship just around the corner!
