Following his brilliant performance at Loretta Lynn’s just weeks ago, Yamaha’s Daxton Bennick would race amongst familiar territory on the Budd’s Creek circuit. After qualifying twelfth, the number 241 would prove that his speed was top-tier prior to setting the hole-shot device, and releasing the lever from his left hand. Bennick would arrive at the timing and scoring sensor after the first full lap of action, in twenty-ninth; which was a tough place to work from, given the magnitude of competition. But Bennick wouldn’t quit, and would move into territory of points paying position(s) just as the unfortunate red flag was thrown...causing the field to realign on the grid immediately following. There were few who maximized the re-racking of the field, more than Bennick as he sped from the starting gate(s) and immediately transcended into a fourth-place ranking when passing by the green-flag! With his elbows-up he remained polished amongst the rutted terrain, while seeking to latch onto the top-three riders (of Jalek Swoll, Justin Cooper, and Hunter Lawrence), even though the veterans would embody much more experience than him. Bennick would simultaneously defend his position from Julien Beaumer, who was racing with all of his might aboard the KTM machine; but even with the fellow rookie, along with a hard-charging Tom Vialle, Daxton wasn’t one to waver...and remained finalized in an exceptional fourth-place standing in the final running order as the checkered flag was thrown. In the next portion of racing, Daxton’s opening position on the overall leaderboard (of twelfth) was a place to work from amongst and advantageous pack that was full of determination and aggression. Riders were swaying from left to right on this circuit, trying to find smooth pathways amongst pot-holes and braking bumps that would jar every chassis on the racing circuit. Bennick had multiple spectacular lines amongst the deteriorated canvas, including a swift connection of points before the far-side down-hill triple, where he would stay smooth amongst endless chop and gain notable amounts of time as well. He and Julien Beaumer were inseparable for a good portion of the moto, with the KTM rider staying just ahead as Bennick began to be pressured from that of Carson Mumford...and though the Pro Circuit rider would eventually make his way forward, the ability for Bennick to counter and do his best to replicate the pace of the number fifty-two was exceptional — leading to a remarkable run of eleventh being established, for seventh in the final standing(s) as Budd’s Creek concluded!
