Following his exceptional second-moto victory at last week’s event at the Red Bud facility, Washington’s Levi Kitchen would seek to do much the same while stationed in Massachusetts on Saturday. Though similarities could be drawn amongst the soil(s) of both tracks, there was little argument in regard to just how different this layout of “The Wick 338” was; creating an unknown narrative of sorts, prior to festivals beginning for the first moto of the afternoon. Kitchen had qualified inside the top-ten, and quickly battled for a position of similar trajectory for the opening laps of moto number one. His teammate, Justin Cooper, had quickly stormed to an early lead in the beginning minutes of the exhibition; all the while Kitchen would tirelessly work to keep Haiden Deegan at bay while nearing the halfway point of the moto. With just over fifteen minutes of action completed, it was Kitchen who resided seventh, while attacking the rear wheel of Max Vohland and seeking to make a move was quickly as possible on the Californian. He would make the pass on lap nine, which had him residing in seventh as the checkered flag appeared closer and closer. And the loose-fitting style of Kitchen was continuing to excel in a free-flowing manner, sweeping from various berms with a carving nature while putting as much traction to the rear wheel as possible. His Yamaha would flourish in the latter stages of the moto as well, where he and Haiden Deegan would battle until the final few seconds of action! This would allow him to reside fifth ahead of Jo Shimoda at the checkered flag; pushing to a standing for an excellent overall, prior to beginning the second moto. His starting position for the latter afternoon segment would be categorized as ninth, where he would make passes of his own, but would also be overtaken by the likes of Haiden Deegan and Hunter Lawrence as they neared the halfway point —after a washout occurred with around eighteen minutes left on the clock, causing him to lose valuable amounts of time. However, the resiliency of Kitchen wasn’t something that was going to settle, which allowed him to claw his way forward per se, when conditions became less than ideal. Precipitation was falling from the sky and creating quite the mess of deterred vision — however Levi wasn’t bothered by any variables that hindered his fellow opponents. And eventually, as all was settled for the second moto, he would reside ninth; which equated to eighth overall, in the final record book.
