The red plate holder would look to keep his streak of excellency intact while stationed in Seattle, with a hiatus from racing action preceding this round in the Pacific Northwest. Lawrence had been watching his brother from afar, dominate the East Coast series while itching to return to the racetrack. Therefore many could assume that his ascension to the top of the leaderboard would continue for practice, as he sped through the marred Washington terrain. Navigating his way through rhythm lanes and the multitude of ninety-degree corners with precise technique, there was was little that could deter him from carrying his confidence into the heat race as well. Once into the divisional round, his focus would be on sweeping through the inital left-handed corner and into the forthcoming rhythm lane, where his speed was immediately cast as “next level” compared to the rest of his combatants. However, Levi Kitchen and Cameron McAdoo were seeking to dethrone him, in a multitude of ways. He was just behind the Yamaha and Kawasaki riders as they sped through the first three circuits, though Kitchen was able to distance himself as McAdoo played more of a defensive role. The layout would offer and array of rhythms, and Cameron seemed to have an answer for every one of the red-plate holder’s pass proposals, as the Australian would do his best to shave speed and leap over an extra obstacle when necessary. Pass(es) were almost as made as they neared the completion of the fifth lap, and even as Jett made an eventual move amid the sand section, McAdoo’s counter (by going to the inside of the forthcoming triple-on sequence) would be a problematic move that resulted in a disastrous result! The Pro Circuit Kawasaki then came together with the Australian as the Iowa native would simply run out of room on the left side of the track — coming together with the number eighteen and the outlying tuff-block! With both riders flipping through the air, Lawrence would somehow remount quickly (and seemingly unscathed). Though the victory was out of reach, he would still possess enough energy to mount a charge on Stilez Robertson (who’d moved to second) making a pass on the Californian prior to the seventh circuit being completed. Managing to stay error-free on the white flag lap as well, Lawrence would exit the raceway (claiming the runner-up spot) before heading to the Factory Honda semi visibly frustrated. Following the aforementioned sprint, he would look to the main event where rivals yearned to divert him from the top. But he wasn’t going to let anyone squander his title aspirations, as he dashed to an early position inside the top-five before quickly advancing forward. Overtaking Cameron McAdoo just before the green flag, it was then Hunter Yoder who was passed (for second) not long thereafter. Into second before the completion of lap two, he then sought to pass Stilez Robertson in a calculated manner. With ruts filling each transition, his double-triple-triple line after the finish line remained imminent when hounding the rear wheel of the Yamaha ahead of him. Lawrence continuously skated around the slick insides of the Seattle circuit, looking to make a pass in a multitude of ways as minutes transpired. But Robertson was riding extremely well, keeping Jett at bay (although the Australian seemed rather precautious) until roughly five minutes of racing action transpired. The Honda rider couldn’t wait anymore, at that point, with McAdoo and Hampshire now closing in...and would cause Lawrence to escalate his pace as they neared the sand section. Jett’s vision saw an opportunity to square-up the Yamaha rider in the rhythm lane that followed, accruing momentum all the way through the litany of obstacles before entering into the next corner! Making the pass on Stilez all the while, it was then Lawrence’s race to lose. He remained vigilant and calculated while maintaining a roughly two, to three-second lead for the duration of the moto. The battle(s) were heating-up behind him, but the championship leader paid no attention to anything other than the race track in front of him. And with smooth calculation, Lawrence again resided atop the podium with victory as the eventual checkered flag was thrown — distancing his lead even further prior to Glendale.
