The maturity and confidence of Jeremy Martin would thrive as the round of Detroit came to fruition, as the Minnesota native raced to the highest tier of riders amid time(d) trials in the afternoon hours. Though a smaller statured rider, his ability to blitz the whoops aboard the Club MX Yamaha would undoubtedly be a prominent tool in his arsenal; which translated into heat number one as well, where the action was electric. Martin would push his way into the top three immediately, aggressive yet calculated while the two Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha riders (Jordon Smith and Haiden Deegan) would quarrel at the front of the field. Their battle eventually became counterintuitive after the number 238 would lead the first two laps, and then nearly come to blows (with the fifty-eight machine) leaving both at a standstill before the largest double on the circuit! This would allow Jeremy to prevail with the lead, as they were halted and interlocked while on the outside of the circuit! Martin then took reign of the field without hesitation, proceeding to blitz his way through the remaining six laps with resilience and fortitude. Managing the race after developing a significant gap over Deegan, the number six would eventually come across the line with his hand raised; taking a hard-earned win before entering into the main event. Martin’s start to the main event was magnificent, where Jeremy would reside second for quite sometime, just behind Honda’s Hunter Lawrence. He did his best to keep pace with the red-plate holder, though subtle mistakes would cost him bike lengths (to the Australian) all the while Nate Thrasher approached rather rapidly. Matters would reach a boiling point around five minutes in, when the Tennessean would leap to the inside of Martin (in the opening rhythm section on the circuit), with a spectacular triple, into the concluding right-handed bend. Martin would have no other choice but to relinquish that position, but he wasn’t done, being immersed in battle. Haiden Deegan would approach him, and ultimately take aim with just over five minutes to go; pushing him to the widest point, in the corner before the last rhythm lane on the track! Leaving Martin no room to move forward, it was Jeremy who had to acknowledge and let the rookie around. From that point onward, Martin maintained his composure and developed a solid state of speed in the fourth-place residency. He wouldn’t become frustrated or overwhelmed with emotion, staying rather stoic as he eventually crossed the finish-line in fourth; which was a solid showing for the veteran, ClubMX Yamaha rider.
