Tireless in preparation for the 250cc East Coast championship, Chance Hymas wanted to know that he exhibited one-hundred percent effort prior to beginning this storied run in 2023. All of the steps taken throughout his career, would lead to this; a climactic trek of events that were on the world’s largest stage, for enthusiasts to view on a global scale. That alone would motivate him to sprint around the track for practice, hoping to acquire as much knowledge as possible before a looming storm brewed on the horizon. He would crouch in an aerodynamic manner while barreling across the straightaway before the finish-line obstacle, remaining rigid while he lunged toward the final time and scoring sensor. Ultimately, he would register a position of fifth on the overall leaderboard before practice would conclude; exiting the raceway with confidence prior to departing to the semi. The stadium would be packed full of fans as he rolled into the starting gate for heat two, preparing for an expedited effort prior to the gate(s) falling. It was obvious that tension(s) would rise in this sprint of sorts, as directly transferring would be a crucial memo that everyone yearned to complete. Seconds thereafter, twenty competitors would simultaneously drag both front and rear brakes while skidding into the initial bend; and Haiden Deegan (who led) would dictate that process as he proceeded to lead the field around. He (Hymas) would acknowledge the front of the field and yearn to infiltrate it; following the competition ahead of him, albeit within striking distance and just out of range from projectile-like roost that was flung from the rear wheel(s) of all! Grains of sand had now passed through the airway of his helmet, ground between his teeth as he bit down with tenacity after the first few laps. But he wasn’t going to let anything deter him from claiming a main event bid, and proceeded to move past the veteran, Jeremy Martin, with an incredible sequence prior to lap-three being initiated! From that moment (and forward), Hymas was exhibiting excellent characteristics on the Honda 250F. He would ultimately reside (second), with only the finalé being left to conquer prior to departing from the city of Tampa. The track was now abysmal and had eroded from a combination of moisture and decay by countless sets of tires; yet he managed to decipher through the quagmire of both sand and surrounding soil in eleventh position as matters began. Rhythm lanes were much harder to navigate through at this hour, when compared to implications around two o’clock in the afternoon; but his experience through the years, would be a catalyst that put him ahead of Jace Owen. The margin between he and the three riders who trailed was within ten-seconds, but he yearned for ample room with the track beginning to worsen as the checkered flag neared. Doing his best to hang-on in the final three laps, he would nullify front-end washing with tougher grip, which was manhandling the chassis prior to taking off from the final double. Ultimately finishing eighth, he would be applauded on behalf of his performance from those in his surrounding crew.
