With all in his supporting cast working with a resilient mindset, Chance Hymas would embody the same characteristics while racing the clock on Saturday afternoon at NRG Stadium. This track would possess a good mix of technical sections, along with adequate straightaways for a motorcycle to unleash its true top-end speed; which were both attributes that played into his repertoire of skills. Executing when it mattered most, his final position of eighth would be finalized as all practices concluded; leaving only the night show to be embarked on, prior to accruing a (hopeful) plentiful some of points. He was aligned upon the grid while contesting the best in the division with names like Hunter Lawrence and Jeremy Martin standing between he and victory at the end of the night; though he had to do his best to make it to the checkered flag of the fifteen minute (plus one lap) contest following this particular sprint. The turn after the “SX” triple would be annihilated by countless motorcycles throughout the night, especially on his behalf. His speed when flowing through the top of the rim would nearly have his Honda machine flying over the top and into the tuff-blocks; though his strength and technique would keep the motorcycle within boundaries at a rapid rate. Into the next set of singles with combination of three and three, and doing what was necessary to complete the assortment of obstacles before ducking into the following corner; which left little room for Michael Mosiman to try and bypass as the timer neared expiration. The sound waves from his exhaust would echo from the floor to the top of the stadium, signaling that he’d conquered a remarkable third-place position as action ceased. His game-plan for the main event was to attack the track from the opening bell, hoping to exploit the weaknesses of his opponents with a barrage of movements through the first seven minutes of action. And his antics would lead him to a position around third (though as high as second), holding a significant pace and reservoir of stamina all the while looking to infiltrate the top-five. He battled at the pinnacle of the field for as long as possible, keeping veteran’s and fellow rookies contained while passing significant marks (like the halfway point) with esteem and confidence. Keeping both Cullin Park and Chris Blose at bay when it mattered most, Hymas’ tenacity would result in eighth overall as all was said and done; which was quite the initiation, into the professional ranks.
