TRAVIS JOHNSMEYER

Travis Johnsmeyer has been a regular contender near the front of the pack in the 65cc (7-9) and 65cc (7-9) Limited classes throughout 2020. The New Yorker started his Dirty 100 campaign at the Daytona RCSX, competing at the World Center of Racing in the 65cc (7-9) class. He ended up achieving an impressive 3rd place in the Main and immediately sent himself to the sharp end of the Dirty 100 rankings, starting his season off on a high note. Johnsmeyer went onto Underground MX for Spring A Ding Ding a couple of days later, performing well in the (7-9) divisions against some stacked competition. He finished half of his motos within the top five and despite an uncharacteristic 14th place finish in the second Limited class moto, the KTM rider came away with a 9th place overall. In the Mod class, the Seven MX backed rider was consistent with 5-4 moto scores and ended up earning a hefty 40 points for his effort, maintaining his position towards the top of the 65cc (7-9) Dirty 100 standings. Johnsmeyer raced his fair share of adversity at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship, as many riders do, but he was still able to salvage a top ten overall in the 65cc (7-9) Limited class. A DNF in the first moto of the 65cc (7-9) class hindered his overall, but he still was able to salvage 27 points in the Dirty 100 rankings. It was another up and down weekend at the Baja Brawl for the New Yorker, but he was still able to do some damage control in the points standings. Some tough luck in the 65cc (7-9) class only provided him with 7 points, but a solid 5th place overall in the Limited class translated to a valuable 38 point haul in the standings. Johnsmeyer is currently sitting 3rd in the 65cc (7-9) Limited points standings and 4th place in the 65cc (7-9) rankings, tied on points in both divisions. It’s going to take a couple of impressive performances at The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City to come away with a podium position in the Dirty 100 rankings, but the KTM rider has proven that he’s more than capable of doing just that.
