Johnathan Yelton made the trip from Kentucky up to Millington, Michigan for the 2020 Baja Brawl, competing in a total of four different classes throughout Labor Day Weekend. The Husqvarna rider entered to compete in both of the Mini Sr. classes as well as both of the Supermini classes, finding the majority of his success in the Mini Sr. categories. The Kentuckian managed a solid 6th place result in Supermini 2 (13-16), but he wasn’t able to match the same intensity that he showcased in the Mini Sr. divisions. In the Mini Sr. 1 (12-13) class, Yelton managed to score a solid top five overall finish after scoring 4-8-3 moto finishes throughout the weekend. In the Mini Sr. 2 (13-15) class, he was able to step it up a couple of notches by finishing all three races on the podium. Yelton started things off in moto one with a strong 3rd place result after making some moves early in the race, fighting his way into a podium finish at the halfway point.  In the second moto, Yelton picked up the pace and laid down the fastest lap out of anyone in the field, hanging onto the top spot from the gate drop until the checkered flag as he took control of the championship battle. He was able to back it up in the third and final moto with a 2nd place finish, keeping it consistent with a podium result every moto as he secured the Mini Sr. 2 (13-15) number one plate.
