The 2020 Baja Brawl over Labor Day Weekend turned out to be a weekend that Troy Assemany will never forget as the Rides Unlimited BTO Sports Racing truck driver celebrated his first-ever championship. If that wasn’t enough of a reason to celebrate, it also happened to be Assemany’s birthday and it all went down at a track that is very close to home as he lives only a couple of hours away in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The KTM rider entered to compete in both the Masters (50+) and Senior (45+) classes and he did well to finish on the podium in all six of the motos that he raced, also earning 2nd place overall in the Senior (45+) division by way of 2-2-1 moto finishes. In the Masters (50+) class, the Rides Unlimited BTO Sports Racing backed rider completely dominated the field as he won all three motos, leading from the gate drop to the checkered flag on each and every occasion. The KTM rider’s pace was on another level compared to that of his competitors, besting his closest rivals lap times by more than five seconds on average throughout the race. There was no question who the fastest rider on the track was in any of the three motos and Assemany thoroughly deserved the number one plate, earning the best birthday present he ever could’ve imagined to complement his birthday weekend.
