Nick Romano was a part of the Team Green Kawasaki program at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship in 2016, contesting the 85cc (9-11) Limited and 85cc (9-12) classes. The New York native had one bad moto finish in the 85cc (9-12) class which hindered his overall result, but he still managed a 2nd place finish in the third and final moto. In the 85cc (9-11) Limited class, Romano earned duo of 3rd place moto finishes combined with a 6th place result in the second moto, placing him on the overall podium at the end of the week. The 85cc (9-11) Limited class and the 85cc (9-12) class were both won by his teammate at the time, Jett Reynolds.
