ROAD TO THE RANCH: BLECHA BROTHERS
Cole and Dilon Blecha first raced at Loretta Lynn’s almost five years ago back in the summer of 2016, racing in the 51cc (4-6) Limited class and the 65cc (7-9) class, respectively. Cole had a strong top-five finish in the second moto that year and ended up logging an 8th place overall finish. Both of them made continued progress throughout the next few years and in 2018, they returned to the Ranch with motivation and determination on their side. Cole was contesting the 51cc (7-8) Limited class for the last time and he earned his first podium at Loretta’s, finishing in 2nd place overall. Meanwhile, Dilon finished in 6th position overall in the 85cc (9-11) Limited class and 5th place overall in the 65cc (10-11) Limited division, finishing all three of his motos inside the top five. Cole was able to collect yet another overall podium finish at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship last year in the 65cc (7-9) Limited class and he backed it up with a top-five result in the (7-9) Mod division. Both of them look like they’re in the necessary form to challenge for podium finishes and overall victories at the Ranch this year after incessant training at Station 5 in Colorado throughout the summer. They both attended the Fox Raceway Southwest Regional and Cole finished at the top of the 65cc (10-11) classes while Dilon grabbed 2nd place overall in both the Mini Sr. classes, putting them on track for a solid year at Hurricane Mills.

How’d the Regionals go for you?
Regionals went well. We went to Pala and the track was gnarly and big. Cole received two 1st place overalls in both 65cc (10-11) and Dilon received two 2nd place results in Mini Sr.1 and Mini Sr. 2. Both of us just rode clean to get the job one and done.
What’s a typical day of training been like for you getting ready for Loretta’s?
We have been training at home four days a week at our training facility, Station 5. We have been in Oklahoma for the past five days acclimating to the heat and humidity, trying to do three to four motos a day.

How do you recover after a twenty-minute moto in the brutal heat and humidity?
Lots of fluids and limited AC.
Is there one specific year at Loretta’s that has been the most memorable for you?
Our favorite year was 2018. It was just a really good weather year and both of us had really good results. We just had a really fun time that year.
What do you think is the key to success at the Ranch?
Motocross is fun so we go to have fun and with that said we try to limit mistakes and be consistent. Stay hydrated and stay rested.
