CARSON MUMFORD | LORETTA LYNN 2016
2016 was Carson Mumford’s first season competing as a part of the AMSOIL Factory Connection Honda outfit after ending a four-year partnership with the Team Green Kawasaki program. The Californian contested both the Mini Sr. 2 (12-14) and Supermini 2 (13-16) class at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championship that year, finishing in the top five overall in both of his classes. Mumford went 9-3-9 in the Supermini class with a podium finish behind Jo Shimoda and Lance Kobusch coming in the second moto. Meanwhile in the Mini Sr. 2 class, it was a battle of attrition between all of the competitors as he earned 3rd place overall in the form of 11-7-2 moto results. He rose to the occasion when the pressure was on the line in the third and final moto, doing enough to earn the final spot on the podium behind Hardy Munoz and Ty Masterpool.
