Cochran contested the 65cc Open class as well as both the 65cc (7-9) stock and mod classes at The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City in 2016, finding most of his success in the younger divisions. The Team Dunlop Elite rider finished the Open class in 6th position which was won by Jayden Clough and he finished on the podium in both of the (7-9) classes. Cochran grabbed 3rd place in the mod class behind Krystian Janik and Jordan Renfro, additionally finishing in 2nd place in the stock class behind Renfro as well.
