JESSE FURTADO

What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Jesse Furtado and I'm from Placerville, California
What classes do you race?
This year I race 65cc (10-11) Limited and (10-11) Mod and the (7-11) Open class.
How did you get into motorcycles?
Well when I was young I saw a dirt bike and at first, I did not know what it was and I asked my mom what is that and she said “That’s a dirt bike,” and I said “Can I have one?”
What other sports do you like?
I don't play any other sports I'm too bad at all of them.
Describe a typical day at the track for you.
Well, me and my mom get to the track, we get unpacked and then I start getting into my gear and my mom gets my bike all prepped up. Then when I am all ready she is pretty much done by then prepping my bike and then I go out on the track, take a quick sight lap, and then I remember what I have to do and then start practicing anything that I need to work on.
Favorite meal to have before you race?
I love to have Italian food like spaghetti and lasagna.
Best moment on a motocross bike?
My best moment on my dirt bike was probably when I got my first championship at Arizona open.
Best road trip story.
I would say the best road trip story is when I got my first Loretta Lynn's ticket. Just me, my mom, and my grandma traveling across the country
What’s your favorite track to ride?
I would say my favorite track to ride has to be Freestone and I haven't always had the best races there but I love the track and I always have good spirits about it.
Who is your favorite professional racer and why?
I would say Ryan Dungey was my favorite racer back in the day. I have the same ride style, I can work both very smooth and consistent just like him because he doesn't play dirty, he waits for the right time to pass people and doesn't have to take them out.
