What’s your name and where are you from?
Logan Jackson from Colfax, Iowa.
What classes do you race?
I race 250 C and 250 C Jr Limited.
How did you get into motorcycles?
I got into dirt bikes almost as soon as I was born as my mom and dad both raced. It was something that I always wanted to do and I got my first bike, a PW 50, for my third birthday. I haven’t stopped riding since!
Tell us about your first race.
My first race was actually a hare scramble, it was me and one other kid in the 50 class. It was pretty muddy that day and I was already over racing by the time I got to the line. I don't remember the whole thing but I can guess I fell A LOT. I can also assume that I was just the proudest little guy ever because I got a second-place medal!
What other sports do you like?
Another sport that I like to do is scootering; if I’m not at the dirt bike track, I’m at the skate park!
Describe a typical day at the track for you.
A typical day at the track usually starts by unloading and finishing up any last-minute maintenance. I always ride every minute I’m able to at the track, usually only stopping when we run out of our race gas supply for the day! On the drives home, my brother and I talk about our favorite parts of the track and the stuff that we need to focus on next time.
Favorite meal to have before you race?
I typically don't like to eat a ton on race day but most of the time on race day I will have eggs and yogurt in the morning. Then just healthy, nutrient-dense shakes to keep me hydrated and performing at my best.
Best moment on a motocross bike?
My best moment that I have ever had on a bike was when I got to ride my race bike for the first time. My parents were impressed with how much effort I was putting into my riding, so they built me a race bike as a reward and to help me move forward. It was the most comfortable that I have ever felt on a bike and I am so excited to rip it when racing picks back up!
Best road trip story.
My best road trip story is was when we were going down to Texas for supercross and to ride. We were in Oklahoma when we entered a road work area and the tongue of the trailer completely disconnected from the rest of the trailer. It could have been so terrible, but luckily we had just entered the single lane to pass the road work so there were concrete barriers on both sides that kept the backside of the trailer upright so the bikes and all the stuff inside was safe. Since it was a single lane we held up traffic for an hour until we could get the trailer and bikes hauled out by a wrecker truck. We somehow managed to get all our stuff in a UHaul trailer that was one-fourth of the size and ended up still having a great weekend in Texas!
What’s your favorite track to ride?
My favorite track to ride is Underground MX in Kemp, Texas.
Who is your favorite professional racer and why?
My favorite pro rider is Ty Masterpool because he has the sickest, loosest style and he rips the corners. He portrays everything about that kind of rider I want to be.
Who would you like to thank for helping you out?
I would like to thank my om and my dad for funding and believing in my racing career. I would also like to thank my stepdad, Brad, for being my own personal riding coach and mechanic! He dissects my form and makes me a better rider while also teaching me how to wrench on bikes and build & maintain tracks. My Mom is also a health & fitness coach and makes sure I’m eating things that give my body fuel on race day in addition to building endurance off the bike.
