Grant Lafrance from Westport, Massachusetts.

What classes do you race?

250B, Schoolboy 2, 250B Limited

How did you get into motorcycles?

My dad started me on quads when I was about 3 years old and got my first 50cc when I was about 5 years old. I enjoyed just having fun around our house and got into racing when I was in 7th grade.

Tell us about your first race.

Pilgrim Sands trail riders, I did a woods race on a supermini.

It was at Wareham MX and we didn’t know what a big wheel was.

What other sports do you like?

Mountain biking.

Describe a typical day at the track for you.

Set-up my bike and get organized with gear, parts, food, etc. I hang out with family and friends between races or do bike maintenance. Once the day is through I pack up.

Favorite meal to have before you race?

PB&J, banana, protein bars.

Best moment on a motocross bike?

First time qualifying for Loretta’s in 2018.

Best road trip story.

There are many and they all involved time with my dad in the camper.  Either driving three to our hours to Maine to race or heading south to Florida or west to a Regional. My dad has logged thousands of miles and I appreciate all he has done to bring me around the country to ride and race.

What’s your favorite track to ride?

Hemond’s MX in Maine.

Who is your favorite professional racer and why?

Ken Roczen because of his comeback from injury and the adversity he had to overcome to win.
