EIDAN STEINBRECHER

What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Eidan Steinbrecher and I’m from Orangevale, California.
What classes do you race?
This year I will be racing the 51cc (7-8) class, 51cc Open class, and possibly the 65cc (7-9) class.
How did you get into motorcycles?
Well, my older brother used to race a local Friday night series and I would scream and cry when I was barely 2 years old because I wanted to ride. Our family also always watched supercross on TV and I was hooked. When I was 3, I used to beg my mom and dad to ride. It wasn’t until I was almost 5 that they finally let me ride a PW.
Tell us about your first race.
My very first race was not good. I had just turned 5 and was on a bike for about two months and I raced a local arenacross race. I had a gnarly crash at the finish line, but I didn’t quit though!
What other sports do you like?
Uh...I don’t really like any other sports.
Describe a typical day at the track for you.
A typical practice day at the track would be working with my coach Preston Mull who has us do sprints and drills. Race day is me getting up and having breakfast, getting my gear on, and always going to take a look at the track.
Favorite meal to have before you race?
I like when my mom makes me eggs, bacon, and toast with cinnamon and sugar.
Best moment on a motocross bike?
Oooh, I have a few but one of my favorites was last year on my Cobra Jr. at the Oakland (I think) Supercross Futures race when I was hitting one of the doubles. There is a pretty rad video out there - I had fallen and I knew that I had to make up time somewhere.
Best road trip story.
I like every time we travel to ride other tracks but I really love my journey to Loretta’s. I get to train at other tracks before and meet new people.
What’s your favorite track to ride?
I love all tracks but I really enjoy Freestone and Loretta’s.
Who is your favorite professional racer and why?
Ken Roczen. He’s fast and he is super nice. I love watching him ride.
Who would you like to thank for helping you out?
I would like to thank my mom, dad, brother, and sister for always supporting and helping me out. I would like to thank my mom and dad because they always get me to the track to practice and they always get me to the races. My dad for always working on my bikes and paying for everything. I would also like to thank Cobra (Shawn and Sean) for both believing in me and having me as a part of the team. I would also like to thank Rob Fox and Dunlop for believing in me and having me as a part of the Dunlop Elite team. My other sponsors: Fox, 100%, ProTaper, 6D Helmets, PR2 Suspension, and my coach Preston Mull.
