SHAWNA STEINBRECHER

What’s your name?

Shawna Steinbrecher

Where are you from?

Orangevale, CA

Who is(are) your rider(s)?

Eidan Steinbrecher

How long have you been a moto mom?

Three years.

Were you into motorcycles before becoming a moto mom?

I became a motocross fan in my high school years.

Describe a typical race weekend for you.

Get up cook breakfast, help Eidan get his gear on. Make sure he stays hydrated, cook some more, pray, race, and cook some more!

What’s your family’s favorite meal at the track?

Who doesn't love tacos!!!!!

Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions while spectating?

I always give him a hug and kiss before putting on his helmet. I always say my prayers while he is at the gate, and typically pace back and forth the entire race.

Most nerve-wracking moment watching your kid(s) race/ride?

I feel like it is all nerve-wracking to me. I always thought it would get easier the longer he did this but then they start going faster and jumping bigger jumps. Whenever he is behind I see him push himself in ways that almost make it hard to breathe.

Favorite part about being at the track?

I think my favorite part is hanging with our extended moto family. We spend more time with our moto friends then we do at home and we are forever grateful for the friendships and memories that us adults, as well as our children, have made. They understand our CRAZY!!!!

Favorite and least favorite part about traveling to the races?

My favorite part is watching Eidan's excitement and setting goals for each race. My least favorite is definitely the long drives.

Craziest travel story?

Luckily, we personally don't have one but two years ago we were traveling to the Top Gun race in Washington. We were traveling in a group and our kid was in the motorhome in front of us. All of a sudden their motorhome started smoking and the slide kept sliding in and out. There was an electrical fire and Eric had to rewire their motorhome on the side of the freeway. Thankfully everyone was safe.

The most important lesson motocross teaches at a young age.

Honestly, I think this sport teaches drive, determination, dedication, and an amazing work ethic. In the end, I know Eidan will be successful in life because at such a young age he has made so many sacrifices because he wants to be successful.

What’s your secret to getting all the dirt stains out of riding gear?

Spray all of his gear with Shout or Oxy-Clean before throwing it in the washer.

Proudest moment of your career as a moto mom thus far?

That is hard, I am proud of him every time he gets on his bike. So to pick one is difficult. If I must...I think being selected for Team Dunlop Elite put everything into perspective for me and brought tears to my eyes. Definitely a proud mom moment.

What’s your favorite track?

Duh! Loretta Lynn's!

Who is your favorite pro racer?

Ken Roczen!!!!!!!!

What is your favorite genre of music?

Love me some country and 90's rap.

What is your favorite movie/tv show?

I love the movie Italian Job and I don't really watch too much TV but I would have to say on Netflix I am hooked on Ozark.

What is in your red solo cup?

Most likely champagne.

Any advice for the moto moms of the future?

Love unconditionally, and always keep it fun. This is why we started, it is their journey so let them live it to the fullest.
