What’s your name?

Amanda Trujillo

Where are you from?

Amarillo, TX

Who is(are) your rider(s)?

Marcus Trujillo (9)

Hanna Trujillo (11)

How long have you been a moto mom?

Five years.

Were you into motorcycles before becoming a moto mom?

Not really, I rode a dirtbike as a kid on the farm but had found a love for drag racing as an adult.

Describe a typical race weekend for you.

A typical race weekend is jammed packed with making memories as a family! We love to camp at the track, grill steaks, ride pit bikes and bicycles, play card games, build little tracks in the dirt, make s’mores, play with friends (and meet new ones) and of course...race!

What’s your family’s favorite meal at the track?

That’s a hard one between bacon and eggs or steaks on the grill!!

Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions while spectating?

Nope! Just build ‘em up speeches!!

Most nerve-wracking moment watching your kid(s) race/ride?

The first turn!!!

Favorite part about being at the track?

Being together with my family and watching my kids do what they love!

Favorite and least favorite part about traveling to the races?

I absolutely love traveling to the races! I think that might be one of my favorite parts about the race weekends. I love to drive and exploring new places! Our family has a US map and we put pins in every race track we visit. Our goal is to race/ride in all 50 states.

Craziest travel story?

Never fails when we go to Ponca, we end up with a flat tire on the way! Every. Single. Year. We have learned to just expect it now!

The most important lesson motocross teaches at a young age.

If you want something, work for it!

What’s your secret to getting all the dirt stains out of riding gear?

Pressure washer and simple green.

Proudest moment of your career as a moto mom thus far?

We went to a local state series race that we weren’t running for points, just there for seat time on the track and Marcus asked if he could pull off on the last lap and take last place so he didn’t take points from another rider who was racing the series. I have never been more proud of my kid for having a pure heart and always thinking of others before himself. To him, racing dirt bikes is so much more than a trophy and to watch him give up a first place and pull off on the last turn and cheer his friends on to the checkered flag made me so proud! He is now guilty of doing this often.....

What’s your favorite track?

Mammoth!!!

Who is your favorite pro racer?

I have always been a Dungey fan, but now I’m pulling for Jett Lawrence, I love his confidence and drive! That kid is going somewhere!

What is your favorite genre of music?

Christian (K-Love)

What is your favorite movie/tv show?

I don’t really watch TV! But I do look forward to DVR’s of Monster Energy with the family on Monday’s after a race weekend!

What is in your red solo cup?

Sweet Tea

Any advice for the moto moms of the future?

Hang on tight, it’s a wild ride! These will be some of the best days of your life spent with your family! Soak up every second and enjoy this time with your little rippers!

Oh Moms….DO IT!!!! Just live in this moment with your kids. What a gift to have such an awesome, family oriented sport! Make the memories! Cherish these precious humans that we get to raise!
